Lesson 1 of 3 7 min Free preview

Plan the page before you prompt

Write a one-paragraph brief that tells Claude exactly what to build.

Five minutes of planning saves an hour of back-and-forth. Before you open Claude, answer these on paper:

  • Who is the page for? e.g. people in Asaba looking for a barber
  • What one action should they take? e.g. book on WhatsApp
  • What sections does it need? e.g. header, services with prices, opening hours, booking button, location
  • How should it feel? e.g. clean, bold, dark with gold accents

Turn it into a brief

Build a single-page website for [BUSINESS], a [TYPE OF BUSINESS] in [CITY].

Visitors should [MAIN ACTION]. Include these sections: [SECTIONS].
Style: [LOOK AND FEEL]. It must look good on a phone first.

Use one HTML file with Tailwind CSS from a CDN, so I can open it directly in a browser.

Fill in the brackets for your business. In the next lesson, we'll give this to Claude.
